The simple answer is you should only consider using if you’re concerned or uncomfortable with the appearance of lines and / or wrinkles on your face. Any aesthetic treatment, and when to have it, is a very personal choice. Choosing the right medical practitioner and the right product is essential for this treatment so please do plenty of research before you go ahead and book your treatment. Please remember that Anti-wrinkle injections are prescription medicine and should, therefore, only be administered by a qualified medical practitioner.

Before any treatment is carried out it’s very important that you have a full consultation with your practitioner during which there should be a detailed face to face assessment, clinical photos and a full medical history is taken in order to ensure that you are a suitable candidate.

DO ask to see before and after photos of clients, your practitioner has treated themselves and make sure the results are very natural and in keeping with what you want to achieve.

Now you do, it may seem an obvious point but only medically trained professionals such as Doctors, Dentists and nurses are allowed to carry out this procedure. Please make sure your practitioner is medically qualified and insured to perform the treatment as, unfortunately, we are now seeing lots of unregulated and unqualified beauticians etcetera offering this treatment illegally.

Remember that medically trained practitioners should hold an up-to-date GMC, GDC or nursing registration and undertake regular training each year to perfect and improve their technique.

During treatment, we will assess your face and expressions, discuss the issues you may have and mark out the areas which require treatment. We will advise you on which areas of your face are best treated and may suggest alternative and / or complementary treatments such as chemical peels or dermal fillers depending on which areas of your face you wish to see improvements on.

During the treatment, which usually takes around 20 minutes, we will inject Anti-wrinkle injections into the selected muscles. Some muscles will require multiple injections during one session so do be aware that the treatment simply involves a series of small injections which are very quick.

Muscle relaxing injections require no downtime. You’ll be able to return to your usual activities straight away. However, at Air Aesthetics we recommend that you wait at least seven days before having a HydraFacial or peel. You should be given aftercare advice to ensure your treatment achieves the best results possible.

You may notice the appearance of your wrinkles improves in as little as a few days, but it can take two weeks or more to see the full results and at Air Aesthetics we will see you for a complimentary top-up, if required, about two weeks later to ensure you achieve the natural look you’re after.
