Today demand has been fuelled by the proliferation of selfies and, during the pandemic, high- resolution video-calls, and this includes a growing number of men wishing for fewer wrinkles and sharper jawlines looking for anti-wrinkle injections.
A large part of that demand will come from injectables. These include anti-wrinkle treatment such as Botox that freeze facial muscles, as well as dermal fillers which plump softer tissue and provide structure to the face.
But how can you ensure you get a more natural look? Dr Claire Oliver (GDC) offers advice on choosing the right clinic for you.

And that’s the key – any qualified practitioner will want to ensure natural, longer-lasting results whether you are looking to enhance lip volume, redefine features or soften wrinkles”.
For a practitioner to inject safely and legally, they need to be fully trained and hold the appropriate qualifications. I would always advise clients to choose a doctor-led clinic with highly experienced staff and arrange a face-to-face consultation beforehand.
There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach so it is important to have an in-depth, face-to-face appointment before going ahead with any treatment. You should be told what to expect before, during and after treatments and be advised on specific precautions you need to undertake and the follow-up care to be given. Expect to be listened to when it comes to your expectations, but equally, listen to what can be realistically achieved. Ask to see before and after pictures and testimonials.
Good quality anti-wrinkle injections typically last around three months, depending on the target area and the dose used. As everyone’s skin is different, a bespoke treatment plan should be offered to help maintain a refreshed appearance.
You know the saying “if something looks too good to be true, it probably is”? If you find somewhere offering cheap fillers and anti-wrinkle injections be wary. We all want a good deal, but you probably won’t get a full consultation ahead of your injections and you may well be left disappointed by the results.
