What Is CoolSculpting® Elite?

CoolSculpting® is the world’s No.1 non-invasive fat reduction treatment. The advanced technology uses the power of precise controlled cooling, or cryolipolysis® to target and eliminate stubborn fat cells that diet and exercise can’t shift. The only difference between CoolSculpting ® Elite (link to blog 1) and CoolSculpting® is that the Elite CoolSculpting® treatment allows you to eliminate on average 27% unwanted fat cells and on average 40% unwanted fat cells following a second treatment in the area. Coolsculpting Elite® treats up to 18% more skin surface area than the original CoolSculpting® units. This allows for a more comprehensive fat freezing treatment.

The process of Coolsculpting® Elite treatments is the same regardless of gender, the only slight difference in CoolSculpting for men and CoolSculpting for women can be what areas of the body the treatment targets.

How Do Non-Invasive CoolSculpting® Elite Treatments Work?

CoolSculpting® Elite uses non-invasive cooling to induce lipolysis – the breaking down of fat cells – with clients seeing a noticeable, natural-looking reduction in fat. How? The cooled fat cells undergo apoptosis that kills the cells, gradually eliminating them and, in turn, reducing the thickness of the fat layer.

It’s important to note that once the fat cells have been destroyed they do not re-grow. The destroyed fat cells are naturally processed by the body and removed without injury to the skin or other tissue that results from more invasive procedures such as liposuction. This process is gradual and does not harm the surrounding tissues.

A comprehensive consultation is required before you commence your CoolSculpting® Elite journey, to assess your suitability for the treatment and to address any questions you may have. This is when you provide a full medical history, which is crucial to flag any contraindications or concerns.

During the consultation, your CoolSculpting® Elite specialist will discuss your body shape goals to align the treatment plan with your expectations.

We seek to understand your goals and the results you are aiming to achieve. This is followed by a review of your medical history and physical examination to assess suitability for treatment. We will show a range of our results achieved over the last 10 years and discuss the cost of treatment with you.
Consultations are in person however an initial consultation to discuss treatment and suitability is available online. For clients traveling distances we are happy to offer online consultation at this stage.
Yes of course. We have an open door and welcome clients in join us for a coffee and to discuss treatments and pick up information or brochures.
Once a consultation has been taken we will be able to confirm a treatment date with you to suit your diary.
The CoolSculpting® procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the CoolSculpting® procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinaemia, cold agglutinin disease or paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria. The CoolSculpting® procedure is not a treatment for obesity. As with any aesthetic treatment consult with your chosen aesthetic practitioner first.
Many of us think that weight loss and fat reductions are one and the same thing but they’re not. By the time we reach adolescence our body has laid down all the fat cells it will have as an adult. From that point on as we lose weight, our fat cells shrink but the number of cells remains exactly the same. When we gain weight those annoying fat cells simply get larger again; they swell.

The beauty of CoolSculpting® is that it works to reduce the actual number of fat cells in specific areas of our body and once those cells have disappeared they’re no longer there to get any bigger.

CoolSculpting® is particularly useful for those hard to lose pockets of stubborn fat which are diet and exercise-resistant. Areas including love handles, post-pregnancy paunch, muffin top, upper arms, inner thighs and under the chin respond, extremely well to CoolSculpting®.
CoolSculpting® is a new, patented and FDA-cleared treatment that is completely non-invasive and successfully helps you remove fat – permanently.
CoolSculpting® extracts energy to cool fat cells thereby triggering their natural cell death. CoolSculpting® only extracts enough energy to selectively target fat cells. Other cells and tissue all remain unharmed by the treatment. Extensive experience has also shown us that clients tolerate the treatment well without the need for pain medication during the treatment itself. CoolSculpting® is technique dependent and requires no staff time once the client is set up and the treatment is underway.

Liposuction, on the other hand, is a heat-based procedure which works by delivering intense heat through the skin resulting in traumatic and sudden cell death. It is non-specific in terms of energy delivery and, as a result, tissue other than fat cells may be affected. With Liposuction patients also often require pain management especially in complex procedure cases. Liposuction is also technique dependent with a very small margin for error.

In summary, unlike a lot of other treatments CoolSculpting® takes very little time – a treatment session usually takes just 40 minutes – is virtually painless and is, therefore, simple to fit into your daily life. After your CoolSculpting® treatment you can typically get right back to your busy day whereas with procedures such as Liposuction several weeks off work are often required for recovery.
