How Does it Work?

FEEL AND SEE THE DIFFERENCE – The EMSculpt treatment uses high-intensity electromagnetic technology to tone your body and help eliminate fat. In one 30-minute session, the technology induces 20,000 supramaximal muscle contractions – that’s the equivalent of doing 20,000 full contraction crunches or squats in 1 session. The muscle responds with a deep remodeling of its inner structure ie the growth of myofibrils (muscle hypertrophy) and the creation of new protein strands and muscle fibers (muscle hyperplasia). The process results in increased muscle density, just like exercising, but to a much greater extent. The procedure burns up the local fat stores giving the muscles the calories they need to induce the contractions. The result is that the muscles are re-modeled and contoured at a much faster rate than normal exercise alone could ever achieve.

It’s important to ask lots of questions and fully explore all options available to you. Here are the most popular questions asked.

You don’t have to be in optimal physical condition to see results from EMSculpt, but the ideal EMSculpt candidates are slim built, relatively fit patients looking for that extra definition in the abdomen and lift in their buttocks that their own efforts can’t accomplish.
The EMSculpt procedure feels like an intensive workout. You can lie down and relax during the treatment. The actual process is painless. The device straps on over the treatment area, and the practitioner controls the power moving gradually from a low intensity working up to 80-100% power.

The treatment usually takes around 20-30 minutes and is a very comfortable procedure, and patients don’t generally consider it a painful treatment. Some liken the sensation to an intense abdominal or gluteal workout –except the device is doing all the work.

For optimal toning and fat destruction, a series of four EMSculpt treatments, spaced 2-3 days apart, is recommended. Your practitioner will help you create a treatment plan tailored to your specific goals.

Fat reduction, muscle definition, and overall toning will begin to appear two to four weeks after the last session. EMSculpt results are continuous and should be fully visible by three months, but can improve for up to six months.
You may notice mild and temporary muscle soreness the next day. On rare occasions, people have said they feel fatigued like they have just finished a strenuous workout.
How long you will benefit from the results of EMSculpt treatment will depend on how active your lifestyle is. Some people undergo EMSculpt and then maintain their newly toned body afterwards on their own with regular exercise, working on core strength for example. This approach will deliver long lasting, possibly even permanent results. Other patients receive EMSculpt as an alternative to exercise and plan to return for more treatment for maintenance.
There’s no downtime required after the treatment, and patients can resume their regularly scheduled activities immediately.
