Profhilo® is an injectable rejuvenation treatment. Unlike dermal fillers which are aimed at restoring lost volume in specific areas, Profhilo is designed to repair the support structure beneath the skin’s surface. By delivering the active HA product directly to this layer, Profhilo is able to restore skin tightness, tone and elasticity by interacting with your tissues causing the weaker areas to regenerate.
Profhilo also enables intense hydration to take place rejuvenating the skin and restoring the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid that has been lost with age producing excellent, natural-looking results.
It is the first treatment to contain only 100% pure hyaluronic acid (HA) without the use of chemical cross-linking agents (BDDE). This means, it hydrates the skin from the inside out and achieves unrivalled levels of skin-firming and hydration.
The Profhilo gel closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body and is highly compatible with natural body tissues resulting in a low inflammatory response when injected. Its extensive spread-ability means a small amount, strategically injected, will produce the desired result over a larger area.
REJUVENATE, HYDRATE AND STIMULATE
With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64ml/2g) Profhilo starts working as soon as it is injected into the skin. As a stabilised product, Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time, the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA. Profhilo is customisable for each client, enabling you to get the best results from your treatment. Our one-to-one consultations are designed to create a bespoke treatment programme to identify your goals and work out the best programme of treatment to help you achieve your desired results. During your consultation, we will be able to answer any questions you may have about your skin concerns and give you personalised advice.
Up to 10 specific injection points can be used. These are known as bioaesthetic points or BAPs and are in the most anatomically receptive areas. When used together the BAPs allow the treatment to take maximum effect.
LONG LASTING EFFECTS…
Profhilo is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle for minimum discomfort. Numbing cream can be used to make the procedure more comfortable and treatment is quick, typically taking about 30 minutes.
After treatment has taken place, you should not experience any downtime, being able to carry on with your day as planned as soon as you leave the clinic.
As with any injectable treatment, there are minor risks, including bruising and swelling, however, these are very rare.
Treatment with Profhilo does not affect facial expression and the benefits can normally be seen over the following days and increase over time as new collagen and elastin forms. Is the treatment painful?
Your comfort is our priority. We use extremely fine needles to minimise any discomfort and we can also apply a local anaesthetic cream to the area for an even gentler treatment experience.
Who is Profhilo suitable for?
Because the HA is a naturally occurring product in the skin, treatment is suitable for anyone. Profhilo should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems. Profhilo has not been tested in pregnant or breast-feeding women. Individuals with medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure.

How many treatments will I need to get the desired result?
Your personal treatment programme will be bespoke to you and decided between you and your consultant, however, as a guide you might expect to have two treatments one month apart to obtain maximum effect and benefit.
Is it safe and are there any side effects?
Profhilo has proved itself with an excellent safety record since its launch in 2015. You may notice some short-term injection-related reactions such as swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. Typically, these will disappear in a matter of hours or occasionally days.
How long will the results last?
Profhilo products are biodegradable, which means they will be naturally broken down by the body. To ensure an optimal and long-lasting result, a top-up treatment is recommended 6 months after your initial course of Profhilo treatment.
