Flexible 3 Tier Treatment System
Unlike other skin rejuvenation therapies, Tixel transfers heat to the surface of the skin which causes it to tighten and rejuvenate. The pyramid-shaped tips of Tixel make skin contact for only a few thousandths of a second, in which time it creates microchannels in the skins surface that can improve the ability of skin to absorb moisture and nutrients from nourishing skin care products. The length of exposure will vary depending on your treatment plan. It works in a similar way to laser resurfacing or chemical peels, destroying damaged skin cells and encouraging new cell turnover to harness the skin’s natural healing process.
Skin Rejuvenation Treatment Options:
One of the key attractions of Tixel, aside from its super-effective results, is that it offers considerably less downtime than other resurfacing technologies. Treatment plans can be tailored to your skin’s needs, the results you want to achieve and the amount of downtime you are willing to give. There are 3 treatment strengths to choose from:
Tixel Glow
Tixel Glow is the mildest strength non-ablative treatment perfect for those who are ‘on-the-go’ and who want a quick-fix with no downtime. Tixel Glow is ideal for a facial refresh to keep skin smooth and brighter through treating pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage.
This mode creates tiny pores in the skin to allow penetration of topical treatments and can be used to treat skin pigmentation such as hyper-pigmentation.
After a Tixel Glow treatment you can apply make-up straight away and carry on with your daily routine. You should expect some mild redness but this will go down soon after treatment.
Your aesthetician will work with you to recommend the number of treatments you will need to achieve your anticipated results – usually between 3 and 6.
Tixel Radiance
Tixel Radiance is the mid-strength sub-ablative treatment that requires minimal downtime. It is used for medium depth lines and wrinkles, more pronounced sun damage, acne scars and localised skin lesions such as sun spots. It is also suitable for darker skin types where full ablative (Tixel Hi-Energy) treatment is not suitable. As it is less intense, clients may require more treatments to achieve the desired effect.
The down time is between 2 and 4 days. You can expect slight swelling for the first couple of days and mild redness for up to 6 weeks (this can be covered with a tinted moisturiser) Make up can be applied after 2 or 3 days.
Your aesthetican may recommend between 1 and 3 treatments every 6 weeks. Results can be maintained with a yearly top-up treatment.
Tixel Hi-Energy
This is the most intensive ablative treatment using the highest energy setting. By creating channels in the skin, it is particularly effective for skin tightening and scar reduction through promoting a higher level of healing.
In terms of downtime, swelling could take around 2 to 5 days to clear and make-up can be applied after 4 or 5 days. Clients can expect redness for up to a month after treatment.
A course of 3 treatments is recommended. Treatments are every 8 weeks. Results can be maintained with a once a year Tixel maintenance treatment.

Male Skin Rejuvenation – Treatment FAQs
It’s important to ask lots of questions and fully explore all options available to you. Here are the most popular questions asked.
Is Tixel skin rejuvenation painful?
Generally, Tixel treatment offers very little discomfort for clients – you do not need local anaesthesia. Depending on the level of treatment intensity, clients are likely to see some redness and swelling after treatment.
How will I look after treatment?
As the redness subsides, tiny brown coloured grid marks (known as microcrusts) may be visible. These may peel or flake and are present for 3 to 5 days. Grid marks and microcrusts may not always be present, and will depend on the type of treatment you have had.
What do I need to know about aftercare?
After treatment, you should apply a moisturiser every 3-4 hours for the first couple of days, and then twice a day until all the microcrusts have healed. Your consultant will confirm the position regarding make-up and other products which will depend on the intensity of treatment you have had.
