Acne affects up to 80% of the population at some point, mostly during teenage years, and is most commonly seen on the face, the upper part of the chest and the back. The dark spots that remain years after the breakouts are caused by inflammation during the healing process. If acne has been particularly severe, your body may have produced too much or too little tissue leading to a depression in the skin or heavy scarring. This can prove debilitating for some people who feel very self-conscious in social situations and job interviews.

The non-invasive Tixel treatment uses thermo-mechanical ablative technology to safely resurface, tighten and rejuvenate skin, including reducing acne scarring. It works in a similar way to laser resurfacing or chemical peels, destroying damaged skin cells and encouraging new cell turnover to harness the skin’s natural healing process.

Frequently Asked Questions

A small, hot metal plate featuring tiny cones is applied repeatedly tom your face. The plate touches your skin for about six-thousandths of a second and before your nerves can register this the hot plate is withdrawn. Unlike fractional CO2 laser treatments, Tixel patients experience less downtime and can return home immediately afterwards. Because it is not a laser device, there is no need to wear protective eyewear so it is possibly to treat the delicate skin around the eyes without causing damage to the area, and, most notably, it doesn’t leave a layer of debris on the skin.

Depend on the issue being treated we will discuss your needs before planning the best one for you.

Open channel: This mode creates tiny pores in the skin to allow penetration of topical treatments and can be used to treat skin pigmentation such as hyper-pigmentation.

Non-ablative:  This treatment is suitable for clients with busy schedules and don’t have the time for any recovery; however, because it is less intense more treatments may be required to get the desired result.

Ablative: The most intensive treatment with effective skin tightening and scar reduction results. It creates channels in the skin to promote a higher level of healing and patients aren’t able to wear any makeup or SPF for two days post treatment.

You’ll see results after just one session; however we recommended a course of between three and six, four to six weeks apart, for lasting tightness and tone that can last for up to two years. While each treatment option has aftercare needs and downtime, the result is a naturally refreshed appearance.
