What Is Ultherapy®?

Are you searching for a way to lift and tighten sagging skin without resorting to surgery? What is Ultherapy, and how can it help?

Ultherapy® is a revolutionary, non-invasive treatment that uses ultrasound technology to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production. This FDA-approved procedure for both men and women focuses on areas such as the face, neck, and décolletage, helping to restore a youthful, firmer appearance with no downtime.

At Air Aesthetics, we’re proud to offer this advanced treatment in the UK, providing exceptional results tailored to each individual.

How Ultherapy® Works

We often get asked “what is Ultherapy”. Ultherapy® uses DEEPSEE® visualisation to place focused ultrasound energy deep into the skin, targeting layers traditionally addressed only through surgery. This energy jumpstarts the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins responsible for keeping skin firm and elastic.

A handheld device allows the practitioner to deliver this energy precisely where it’s needed, ensuring optimal results.

Each session lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

Does Ultherapy® hurt?

While discomfort is minimal, patients often describe sensations of heat or tingling during the procedure, which indicates the treatment is stimulating collagen production.

For added comfort, numbing cream is typically applied before your session.

Key Benefits of Ultherapy®

  1. Non-Surgical Alternative: No incisions, stitches, or scarring.
  2. No  Downtime: You can return to your daily routine immediately.
  3. Natural Results: Gradual improvements appear over 2–3 months, leaving you looking refreshed and with natural looking results.
  4. Customisable Treatments: Ultherapy® is suitable for various areas, including the jawline, brow, cheeks, eye, neck, and chest.

How Long Do Results Last?

Most patients see results that last up to a year or more, with maintenance treatments every 12–18 months recommended to prolong the effects.

This long-lasting improvement makes Ultherapy® a cost-effective alternative to more invasive procedures.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Ultherapy® do to your face?

Ultherapy® stimulates collagen production, lifting and tightening sagging skin to create a firmer, more youthful appearance.

Is there an ideal time to have Ultherapy®?

The best time to have Ultherapy® depends on individual needs. Many patients choose it in their 30s–50s to address early signs of aging or as a preventative measure to maintain skin firmness.

Seasonal considerations means Autumn/Winter is ideal for Ultherapy® treatment. For more personalised advice, consult one of our specialists to assess your skin and goals.

How does Ultherapy® compare to other skin treatments?

If you’re wondering “what is Ultherapy® and how does it compare to other options”. Ultherapy® stands out as a non-invasive alternative that uses ultrasound energy to target deep skin layers, unlike treatments such as laser resurfacing or chemical peels.

What is the downside of Ultherapy®?

It’s not ideal for severe skin laxity or as an immediate solution; results develop gradually over months.

How long do Ultherapy® results last?

Ultherapy® results typically last 12–18 months. These results can then be extended with follow-up sessions to sustain the benefits of your initial treatment.

How soon will I see results from my Ultherapy® treatment?

Some improvement can be seen within weeks of your Ultherapy® treatment, but full results appear after 2–3 months as collagen builds.

What should I do to prepare for an Ultherapy® treatment?

Avoid excessive sun exposure and ensure your skin is clean on the day of your session. Follow any additional advice provided during your consultation.
