How Does EmFACE® Work


Emface works by simultaneously targeting the skin and underlying facial muscles using two synchronized technologies: RF (Radiofrequency) and HIFES™ (High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation). The RF energy heats the dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin production, smoothing and firming the skin. EmFace vs EmSculpt: What's the Difference?

EmFace treats the face. EmSculpt and Emsculpt NEO treat the body. EmFace uses RF and HIFES™ to tone the facial muscles and stimulate collagen in the skin, lifting the brows and cheeks and softening wrinkles. It doesn't remove fat.

EmSculpt uses HIFEM to build muscle in the abs, arms and glutes. Emsculpt NEO combines HIFEM with radiofrequency to reduce fat and build muscle in the same 30-minute session. If your goal is a flatter stomach or more defined arms, read about our Emsculpt NEO body contouring instead.

It’s important to ask lots of questions and fully explore all options available to you. Here are the most popular questions asked.

No. Most clients describe the sensation as warm and mildly tingly—some even find it relaxing.
Each treatment lasts around 20 minutes, making it easy to fit into a busy schedule.
The standard protocol is four 20-minute sessions, roughly a week apart. Some patients may need 6–8 sessions depending on individual response. Results continue to improve over time.
Some clients notice changes after the first session, with full results developing over 6–12 weeks.
None at all. You can return to your day immediately after treatment.
It can help with two of the most visible ones. Falling oestrogen speeds up collagen loss. A review in the journal Climacteric puts this at around 30% of skin collagen in the first five years after menopause, then about 2% a year. Many women notice it in their late 40s and 50s as thinner skin, deeper lines and softer definition around the cheeks and jaw. EmFace works on the skin and the muscle underneath in the same session: RF stimulates new collagen, and HIFES™ strengthens the muscles that support the brow and cheeks. It won't change your hormone levels, so it pairs well with menopause coaching at Air if you'd like support with the symptoms behind the skin changes.
Full results develop over 6–12 weeks after your final session. EmFace results are commonly reported to last around a year. Maintenance sessions keep the muscle tone and lift going as your skin continues to age.
